Hampshire Dermatology is Committed to Your Safety

The coronavirus pandemic has challenged us all to examine and improve our safety protocols. At Hampshire Dermatology, we are committed to delivering excellence in dermatologic care in the safest setting possible.

We are in compliance with CDC and Massachusetts Department of Public Health guidelines.

Our protocols include:

Screening: Patients are screened prior to their appointment and upon arrival

Please reschedule your appointment if you answer “YES” to any of these questions:

  • Any fever or chills?
  • Sore throat?
  • Cough?
  • Shortness of breath?
  • Body aches?
  • New loss of smell or taste?
  • Any known exposure to someone with COVID?
  • Any travel in the past 14 days?

Employees trained in self-screening for COVID symptoms:

  • Weekly COVID testing for staff (all negative to date!)
  • Staff COVID vaccination in progress as of January 2021

Cleaning:

While we have always prided ourselves on our cleaning standards, the pandemic has prompted us to enhance our cleaning protocols:

  • CDC-approved cleaning products used to clean and disinfect examination rooms between patients and end of day
  • Regular disinfection of “high touch” common surfaces, such as door handles, water fountain, and restrooms
  • HEPA Air Purifiers with UV-C light in all exam rooms
  • Ultraviolet-C disinfection of devices, such as iPads

Protecting:

  • Masks are worn on premises by staff and patients. We have masks available if you do not have one.
  • “Virtual Scribing”: Medical Scribe listens remotely to reduce the number of people in the exam room for greater safety.
  • Frequent hand washing by staff and hand sanitizer upon arrival for patients
  • Social distancing reminders
  • Plexiglass barriers at checkout
  • Streamlining check in and check out procedures, working towards a more touch-free process
  • Minimizing time in common areas
  • Telemedicine visits available for quality care delivered remotely

For Aesthetic visits, please see our additional guidelines for cosmetic appointments.

We may update our protocols as information and guidance changes. We appreciate your patience as we adjust to our “new normal.”
